Don Lu's Dog is obviously a dog owned by Don Lu.
In The Darkness, Don Lu's Dog carries around a light to help you find your way around. You can jump on his back to cross over spikes laid out on the floor throughout the level. He follows you around until he falls into a trap and is whisked away by The Collector.
In The Collector's Lair, Don Lu's Dog can open up two containers located nearby his cage. The containers hold prize bubbles, so he is a very helpful doggy.
